Greene King licensee Ian Inder, who runs the Fox Inn in Bramdean, Hampshire, has been elected to become the governor of licensed trade charity the Society of Licensed Victuallers from next April. Inder has been in the trade for more than 25 years. Originally, in Inder's words, he was serving "barrels of beer and sausage sandwiches" at the Osborne in Southampton. Now the Fox, which he has run with his wife, Jane, for 18 years, has a big reputation for high-quality food. Inder joined the Society in 1982 and is a past chairman of his local LVA in Winchester. He has served on several of the charity's committees since becoming a trustee in the early 1990s and as chairman of governors for the SLV school in Ilkley, Yorkshire, for five years. Inder said: "I am looking forward to having the opportunity of working with the SLV and developing some ideas to raise the charity's profile, and expanding the knowledge of its work to all those who work in the hospitality industry not just the pubs.
