Top ten pub company InnSpired, has announced the winners of its competition to find the perfect pint.
The InnSpired Beer and Cellar Quality competition ran for the first time this year sponsored by Interbrew and aims to help improve the quality of InnSpired's 1,100 strong estate. This involved licensees striving for excellence in disciplines such as cellar and beer line management, beer quality and presentation including temperature, head retention and glass quality.
Nominations for the competition were put forward by each InnSpired Business Development Manager, whilst representatives from Interbrew were involved in the final judging process.
Seven pubs were awarded the Gold Standard Award, the highest prize given to those who displayed an excellent standard of cellar management and pint presentation. The top awards went to the Victoria Inn in Perranuthnoe, the Masons Arms in Somerset, the Jolly Farmer in Farnham, the Groeslon Hotel in Anglesey, the Red Hart in Doncaster, the Queens Arms in Derbyshire and the Bridge Tavern in the West Midlands.
These winners can look forward to a collection of premium brand Stella Artois merchandise and a wide range of cellar and glass cleaning products supplied by Proton Group.
Peter Brook, Chief Executive of InnSpired, commented, "This competition is a chance to recognise our licensees' efforts to deliver quality service to customers and I speak for all involved in saying that we were impressed with the outcome. Such high scores and exceptional achievement are a credit to all involved and a great demonstration of the increasing quality of the InnSpired estate."
The standard of the competition was particularly high with an average score for the final seven of 97 out of a possible 100. Encouragingly the average score of the pubs who received the Silver award was only nine points behind the winners.
