Knorr is so confident about its new Collezione Italiana wood fired pizzas, that it is giving publicans the chance to travel to Italy, where they will have the chance to judge for themselves just how the hand-crafted pizzas compare with the original.
The prize is a four-day gourmet tour of Parma, famous for its ham and Parmesan cheese, with the opportunity to try the very best cuisine of the Emilia Romagna region. The winner and their guest will stay at the Palace Hotel Maria Luigia, right in the heart of the city, and visit famous cultural sights, including the Teatro Verdi and Verdi's home.
Pizza may have originated in Italy, but it has become a favourite food worldwide. The problem for pubs has been how to take advantage of the growing British enthusiasm for this Italian classic - research from Mintel says that just over a third of us will have eaten out in a pizza restaurant in the last three months.
Most pubs don't have the spare cash or space for a proper pizza oven but that's where Knorr Collezione Italiana wood fired pizzas come into their own. The pizzas are handmade and cooked in wood fired ovens, so they look and taste as though they have been fresh baked on the premises.
There are seven varieties to choose from - Margherita, Americana, Giardiniera, Hawaiian, Caprina, Marinara and Quattro Formaggi - and all can be cooked from frozen in just 10 minutes.
