A first-time buyer Rachel Morgan from Northampton has purchased the leasehold interest in the King William IV pub (known locally as the King Billy) in Commercial Street, Northampton, from previous lessee Steve Elliott. The deal was handled through the Milton Keynes office of Christie & Co. The "King Billy" has a well-established clientele in the town and offers live entertainment throughout the week. This predominantly three-storey property is located on the edge of the town centre, with entrances from both Commercial Street and Bridge Street. It comprises an open plan public bar with games area, catering kitchen, large cellar, trade garden with stage and living accommodation on both the second and third floors, with six bedrooms in total as well as kitchen, lounge and the like on each floor. Stewart Harkness of Christie & Co's Milton Keynes office said: "Our client, Steve Elliott, decided to sell the King Billy after three successful years because he has a young child and therefore needs to move to a quieter business. "We wish the new lessee every success with her new business venture." The King Billy was sold for an undisclosed figure from an asking price of £75,000 for the leasehold interest.
