Bed a nightclub that opened in December on the site of the former Velvet Rooms in Glasgow's Sauchiehall Street has been forced to change its name just three months after opening. The name Bed is used by Style In The City the owners of Glasgow's Babushka and which also owns two bars with the name Bed in London and is also the name of the spin-off club of Midlands' superclub Gatecrasher. Glasgow's Bed will be re-branded as "Blanket". Style In The City confirmed that it had contacted Glasgow's Bed to ensure that it changed its name. Style In The City director Gary Hibberd said: "We own the Bed bar concept and they shouldn't have opened a bar of the same name." Hibberd also confirmed that the company would look at expanding its Bed bar concept to Scotland, following the success of its first Babushka site. Bed was launched by former CPL director Carlo Citti, and had with a marketing campaign which asked: "Why sleep in it when you can club in it?". As part of the re-launch the new slogan will be: "Blanket, get under it".
