The Fleece, a Laurel outlet in Richmond, North Yorkshire, has been the centre of great interest since it put up a new pub sign last week and underwent a name change. The cheeky new sign bears the name "The Tanya's Charms" and bares the figure of a local girl, who recently won a competition entitled High Street Honeys, run by lads' mag FHM. Licensee John Walmsley, who has been running the pub with his partner Samantha Collet since May last year, got behind local girl Tanya and urged regulars of the Fleece to vote for her in the FHM poll. John explains: "Tanya comes into the pub most weeks, although she's very busy now with modelling engagements. There were only a couple of complaints about the sign, whereas most people have been very positive about it. "It's been great publicity for the pub though, and takings have been great over the past few days because people have all been wanting to get a look at the sign. "The story has gone out on radio in Australia, Spain and California and there's also been a piece in the New York Times. "Everyone has had a lot of fun, but now we are having to start getting back to normal.
