Bennett Opie has launched a new range of mixers aimed at taking the hassle out of cocktail making.

The Kent-based company, better known for its cherries, pickled onions and olives, has created Opies Club Cocktail, a collection of four different flavoured mixers which, when mixed with the appropriate spirit, create classic cocktails such as the Margarita, Pina Colada, Strawberry Daiquiri and Tropical Breeze.

William Opie, Opie's managing director, said: "The beauty of Club Cocktail is that pubs and bars, where cocktails are not a core offering, can now extend their repertoire, without the added expense of employing skilled barstaff or purchasing specialised equipment.

"However, the simplicity of the product doesn't mean losing the theatre of cocktail mixing. Bartenders can still incorporate this by using a cocktail shaker to mix the drink with ice and serve it with the appropriate garnishes."

The new range will be supported by branded coasters and point-of-sale material.

Earlier this year, brewer Charles Wells introduced Muse, a range of alcoholic concentrated cocktail mixers that can be diluted at the bar.
