Trigon Snacks is celebrating BigD peanuts' 30th anniversary with the return of the famous BigD girl cards.
For the first time since a PC backlash saw the cards withdrawn in the early 1990's, publicans and drinkers will be able to pick off packs of BigD peanuts to reveal a scantily-clad young lady.
Beverley, who was a regular fixture on the back bar of pubs during the brand's heyday in the 1980's has been replaced by Ruth Higham, 34DD, one of the UK's leading page 3 glamour models.
Miss Higham will spearhead a bold and off-the-wall marketing drive aimed at 18-35 year-old men. Rob Woodall, marketing director for BigD, said: "We're getting cheeky this autumn to bring BigD bang up to date in a big way. The brand is very well remembered for its sexy pin-ups and we've recruited a page 3 star.
"With Ruth at the helm of our campaign, publicans should grab our nuts in double quick time, as we'll be fanning the flames of publicity with some 'revealing' stunts. So watch this space."
Trigon has also expanded the BigD range with the addition of a new Chilli flavour to complement the salted cashew, salted peanuts and dry roasted peanut variants.
