The Sharnford in Sharnford, Hinckley Leicestershire, has a history of attracting unusual animals - and staff.
Until just over a year ago, the pub was called the Falconry because the previous owner kept falcons in its small central courtyard.
When that owner moved on, the pub was renamed and a koi carp pond was put into the courtyard.
But when the chef, who currently rents the kitchen, first arrived, he assumed the pond was for stocking the kitchen and asked bewildered customers to choose which carp they wanted for dinner.
Luckily, customers are still flocking to the impressive pub, which is on the market with Dowling Kerr for £395,000 freehold.
As mentioned, the current owners rent out the kitchen which brings in an extra £15,000 a year, but there is scope to develop the food side of the trade extensively.
The pub has a central bar area leading to a 42-cover restaurant and a second restaurant/function room with 40 covers.
It has large owner's accommodation. For more information call Dowling Kerr on 01484 691404.
