One of Glasgow's most famous pubs is to be demolished after the partial collapse of the building next to it.
Granny Black's in Candleriggs in the Merchant City, Glasgow, currently owned by the Pub Estate Company, has traded as a pub since 1820.
It was irreparably damaged earlier this week when a 40ft vertical section of a dilapidated building next to it suddenly crumbled to the ground.
Building officers have now confirmed the pub and other properties nearby will have to be demolished for safety reasons.
Candleriggs is at the heart of the site for a planned mixed residential and commercial development.
Several pubs in the area, including Bar 91, Oblomov, Riggs Bar and Khublai Khans were unable to trade the day after the collapse, as water and gas supplies were affected and the area was closed off.
Eye witness Allan Cunningham, owner of the Blackfriars pub, also in Candleriggs, said: "I was just locking up around 1am when the whole building collapsed in a cloud of dust. Flats opposite Granny Black's were evacuated and I had about 20 people, including the police and firemen, back into the bar for coffee until 5am. The water supply is still off, and some bars in the area are still closed."
