MenuTraditional bar snacks in the main pub but full-blown meals in Galley Restaurant out the back. Set lunch menu offers two courses for £4.99 (soup of day, roast lamb, chilli con carne, battered haddock or broccoli cheese bake plus dessert or ice cream); snacks include tortilla chips and salsa (£3.25); a range of salad bowls (£6.50) including hot Mexican chicken and chilli; plus standard menu of starters (plaice goujons, £3.50); mains (eastern seafood stir-fry, £8.95); and pasta dishes (Italian tagliatelle, £7.50).

FoodDidn't have time for full-blown meal so opted for a fantastic roast pork, stuffing and apple sauce roll with a roasted potato side order and a pint of Post Haste bitter. The pork was freshly roasted and under a hot display case, hand-carved in front of me and as tender as anything. The whole lot was £3.70 and absolutely brilliant.

ServiceFriendly and helpful.

VerdictA good, all-round pub catering operation.
