The lower prices will be on a plethora of breakfast, pub classic and deli meals alongside steaks and curries.
About three quarters (77%) of JDW’s estate will serve a breakfast muffin (fried egg, sausage, bacon, American-style cheese in an English muffin) with a choice of coffee, tea or hot chocolate for £2.49 – this is a price reduction of about 16% although prices do vary across the portfolio.
Alternatively, MOMA Porridge with honey or banana with a choice of hot drinks will be available for £1.99.
Dish examples
The reduced priced dishes will be available every day from 8am until 11.30am, with some pubs opening before 8am and some at 9am.
For pub classics, the dishes include Wiltshire-cured ham, egg and chips; small freshly battered fish and chips; five-bean chilli; paninis’ and wraps.
Furthermore, the company’s Steak Club will see a classic sirloin 8oz steak for £6.99 with a soft drink – a price drop of about 16% – or £8.29 with an alcoholic drink. Its Curry Club meals will cost £5.99 with a soft drink and £7.29 with an alcoholic drink.
An additional 180 JDW pubs will also be serving a selection of meals, with slightly higher prices, but still offering a saving on their current prices.
Drinks prices
JDW chairman Tim Martin said: “We believe this is a fantastic offer with a great choice of meals, from breakfast to curry, available for customers to enjoy at outstanding prices.
“It follows on from our decision to lower prices on a selection of drinks throughout November. JDW is known for giving its customers value-for-money prices on food and drink at all times and our new pricing means they will be able to enjoy even better value meals through to the end of February 2022.”
At the end of last month (October), the pub group revealed it was reducing the prices of three of its drinks to 99p for the duration of November at 671 of its pubs.
However, JDW pubs in Scotland and Wales will pay £1.10 on one of those lines, due to minimum unit pricing.
