The last date to enter has already been extended once and tomorrow (Friday 25 June) entries will close for this year’s pub Oscars.

Ed Bedington, head judge and editor of The Morning Advertiser, which organises the awards, said: “This competition is a must enter for every great pub operator out there. It allows us to showcase and celebrate the best in the business, generate a great buzz around the sector, and add real value to the pubs that are shortlisted in the awards.
“We’ve seen winners claim huge tangible benefits from entering the awards, from a boost in profile, recognition for their teams, through to adding to the bottom line with increased footfall. If you think you’re running a fantastic pub, then this is the competition you need to enter.”
Categories available
There are 10 categories open for entry until Friday 25 June, they are:
- Best Pub for Dogs
- Best Pub for Families
- Best Pub for Food
- Best Pub for Late Night
- Best Pub Garden
- Best Pub to Watch Sport
- Best Pub with Rooms
- Community Hero
- Best Pub Chef
- Best Young Pub Chef
The awards will also see pub company categories make a return with pubs from the following operations competing for a top prize:
- Admiral Pub of the Year
- Greene King Pub of the Year
- Hawthorn Pub of the Year
- Punch Pub of the Year
- Stonegate Group Pub Partners Pub of the Year
Last year’s awards focused on selflessness and community spirit and were held virtually. The award organisers have taken inspiration from this to create an all new event for 2021.
Cash prize
This year’s awards will be a new hybrid format including a livestream awards ceremony and an overall GBPA winners event.
The awards are sponsored by Booker Makro, Coca-Cola European Partners, Diageo, Heineken UK, Sky Business. Pubco partners are Admiral Taverns, Greene King, Hawthorn the Community Pub Co, Punch Pubs & Co, Stonegate Group Pub Partners.
Coca-Cola Europacific Partners have also kindly put up a cash prize for all shortlisted finalists in the Community Heroes category. Each pub will receive £1,000 to donate to a charity of their choice, while the category winner will go on to take home £10,000 for a good cause.
