Carlsberg is to launch its premium Spanish lager Mahou on draught, following the success of the brand in 330ml bottles, which it launched last November.
The brewer said it had always intended to make the brand available in both formats and it hopes the draught offer will stimulate further growth.
"The launch of Mahou last November has proven to be a great success," said Nick Howells, marketing manager for innovation.
"We have found a range of discerning outlets that understand the quality and premium cues of this great brand and always intended to create an authentic draught proposition for them. We hope this will help drive their businesses forward."
The new font will retain the same design as in Spain, with a chrome handle and tap
and an illuminated fish-eye lens to help it stand out on the bar.
Branded glassware that has been specifically de-signed for the UK market, will also be rolled out.
Mahou (pronounced Ma-o) is aimed at "beer explorers who have a desire to try high-quality imported beers with genuine provenance".
It is made by the same brewer that makes San Miguel — Grupo Mahou San Miguel — which Carlsberg also distributes in the UK.
Mahou is the number-one beer in Spain, where it has a market share of 18%, and is the official beer of Real Madrid and Spain's top football division La Liga.
