The Morning Advertiser has teamed up with Red Bull to help pubs get involved in one of the most creative, exhilarating and downright loony events of the year.
On 7 June, 40 teams will try to solve the riddle of man-powered flight by launching themselves into the air over the Serpentine in London's Hyde Park. The event - the Red Bull Flugtag - aims to bring alive the famous catchphrase: "Red Bull gives you wings!"
It also presents a great opportunity for licensees, which is why Red Bull and the MA have teamed up to make this year's contest a top event in the trade calendar - and encourage as many pubs as possible to enter a team.
If you think you and your best customers have got what it takes to soar through the skies in your own wacky design, then get together over a pint or three and dream up your pub's very own flying machine.
Red Bull channel marketing manager Caroline Jacomb said: "The Flugtag is a really fun opportunity for licensees to engage their customers in a unique and hilarious way. Submitting an entry is not only a great laugh, but could also help you attract customers 'back to the local' to get involved and help you build your flying machine."
So, visit www.morningadvertiser.co.uk to download a design manual and get scribbling and sketching, either on your manual or on a beer mat in the pub.
Deadline for entries is Monday 17 March 2008. Remember to state when prompted that you heard about the Flugtag from the MA.
The winning team at the Red Bull Flugtag will have a choice of prizes, from flying lessons for your pilot, to flights in one of the world's top-performing two-seater aerobatic planes. Or you could just take £5,000.
Snifter thinks it'd be plane silly not to get involved.
