Publican Awards Winners: Best Food Offer, sponsored by CGA Strategy - Cheshire Cat

Pioneering food couple Tim Bird and Mary McLaughlin have used their vast experience in the foodservice sector to build their growing fleet of seven food-led pubs.

In summary, Cheshire Cat Pubs & Bars is a trendy and warm company, with intelligent menus created to match each site down to the bone.

What stands out most, as well as the exquisite quality of the food, is how varied the offer is at each site and how the interiors are far from uniform. In the small village of Mobberley, where the group operates three pubs, each of the site’s menus are distinctly different from one another.

The Bull is a traditional, honest village pub that serves hand-raised steak and ale pies, fish and chips and other great pub classics prepared to perfection. Just a stone’s throw away, at the Church Inn, diners can expect Michelin-starred plates of fresh food, cleverly put together but without pretention and at a reasonable price.

Finally, just down the road, the Roebuck Inn is presented as a shabby chic French bistro/inn and offers small plates that are ideal for sharing.

While this is the award for the Best Food Pub, Cheshire Cat Pubs and Bars is also the 2016 winner of the Drinks Offer of the Year, so it is important to point out the standard of liquids on offer haven’t declined in the past 12 months.

In the Cholmondeley Arms, Cholmondeley, you will find an impressive range of 367 gins (or more), which are also used in the pub’s dishes.

Everything across all Cheshire Cat’s sites strives for perfection, from the customer service to the drinks offer and, of course, the food offer. Each pub has a clear identity from the moment you walk in and each delivers a warm welcome.
